New Directions for the Transfaith Institute

New ways to interact with participants (through Ruzuku and Zoom) have birthed a new phase for the Transfaith Institute.

A new Transfaith for Allies series of modules and certifications promises to support allies who want to deepen our commitment to caring for diverse transgender communities.

"We are envisioning this series as wonderfully practical," says Executive Director, Chris Paige. "We want to move people beyond worrying about terms and definitions to understand the ways that they can really support us."

A Ruzuku online course room offers an online space where people can guide themselves through videos, articles, and other content, while engaging in conversation through the discussion area.

"Too often, we have heard well-meaning allies scared to 'do the wrong thing' because they 'don't know enough' about transgender people," says Paige. "We want to help them get over their fears and build confidence about how they can be involved in appropriate ways."

The free, on-demand Transfaith for Allies: An Introduction with live Office Hours is just the very first step.

The Transfaith for Allies: Friends and Family Certification will be launching through Spring 2017 and Transfaith for Allies: Spiritual Care Certification is to begin in Fall 2017.

The Transfaith Institute has it's own website focused on educational opportunities at http://institute.transfaithonline.org.
