The Transsexual Phenomenon by Harry Benjamin, M.D.

Online book (1966). Overall the information is seriously out-dated, but it is an important work for historical reasons. Harry Benjamin is well known as arguably the 'father' of transgender care. This was his seminal work.

It's hard to change gender in private! My style is not gender-challenging: I regard myself as just one of the ladies of the church, so to speak -- I identify as Just a Woman, not as a Gender Crosser. I think of myself as mainly a professor and writer and friend and dogowner and churchgoer (not necessarily in that order!).
